PGY2 pharmacies must first register all their positions which enters training in 2021 with the game. Under certain circumstances, an PGY2-Residency program may transfer a position to a current PGY1 resident ahead of the matching process as part of the early commitment process. Any candidate interested in a position in the PGY1 or PGY2 pharmacy offered as part of the matching process must register and participate in the match. “Pre-candidate” status is granted to a program that has notified the ASHP that the program intends to apply for accreditation and wishes to participate in the game in order to meet the ASHP certification reporting requirements. Programs that are interested in becoming pre-candidates should contact ashp for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org. The number of opportunities for participation in a program with pre-candidate status is limited. Current PGY1 residents who are interested in continuing education at a PGY2 residence offered by the same sponsor, such as the candidate`s PGY1 residence, may eventually obtain the position through the Early Commitment Process. Candidates who commit to a position are not required to register for the match or participate in the matching process. In addition, each program sets its own qualification requirements for candidates, which it will consider. You should consult directly information about the needs of each program in the ashp online residency directory and program.
Applicants who graduate from a foreign pharmacy school must provide PhORCAS with either a copy of their licence for each country in which they are admitted, or a copy of their Certificate from the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). All candidates must register for the game on this site in order to obtain a job in a PGY1 or PGY2-Residency pharmacy program, accredited or interested in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Note: Stays by the Indian Health Service and programs offering positions offered exclusively to officers mandated by the Ministry of Defence or the Public Health Service are excluded from the MATCHHP. Candidates who only seek employment in these programs do not need to register for the game. In addition, international programs run outside the United States are excluded from the game, although some may choose to participate in the game. Applicants applying for an international program should contact the program directly to determine whether or not the program participates in the game.
